Project Overview

Central Georgia EMC serves one of the largest electric cooperative territories spanning 14 counties across central Georgia. For years, the lack of high-speed internet was a big problem, leaving thousands of members underserved. To fix these challenges, Georgia EMC partnered with Conexon Connect and developed a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network. 

The FTTH network spans more than 5,600 miles of fiber, represents an investment of $200 million, and serves more than 60,000 co-op members. The network provides reliable, high-speed internet to homes and businesses in Bibb, Butts, Clayton, Fayette, Henry, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Morgan, Newton, Pike, Putnam, and Spalding counties.
